So, I was at the dollar tree last week with the kids. We usually stop in to get candles, coloring books, and stuff like that. Well, the kids were looking around in the "toy aisle" and DS1 who loves all things magic (like tricks, stage magic) found the magic card decks and right beside it was a pack of tarot cards! Then, a few rows over while I was looking for candles, I found a farmers almanac. It was not the "Old Farmers", but I think I may like it better since its not mostly filled up with advertisements.

Yes, the dollar stores around here have a lot of cute little things I use! Plus they are so cheap!

WOW! I love the dollar store for witchy supplies, but finding tarot cards there is AWESOME! haha I have an addiction to buying tarot and oracle decks, but I usually resist, but for a DOLLAR! lol We don't have a Dollar Tree here but we do have a Dollar-a-ma that I go to all the time. xD My main amazing finds are from Value Village, just found a goregous rock salt crystal candle holder the other day for just 2.99! considering they sell in the local shops for 15-20 that's a deal.

Awesome!! I've found some great things at the dollar store ranging from candles/holders, mini statues of deities and incense, but never tarot cards! That's so cool  |

Don't you have something similar though? We have '€uro land' (I kid you not) ((with a fail spacing, but ey)) and Japan has 100yen stores. There's not a lot of them, but you do see them around. We also have something called 'ACTION!' (yes, again, really) and all other kinds of really cheap (often crappy) stores that sometimes hide little gems. Somehow there's always cleaning products or something outside.

I went to the Dollar Tree last month after a friend told me she had spotted a pack of Tarot cards there. I'm thinking no way! I went in and spotted them! Woot! Anyway I had to make my way covertly to the register to check out, because a lady from the church I go to walked in and I didn't want to be spotted. I'm just not ready to come out yet and I definitely don't feel comfortable being hammered with questions, well at least most of the times and that day was one of those days. It's a pack to add to my collection and for a dollar you can't beat it. Of course I don't use this pack often because it's all black, red and hints of white. The Minor Arcana have no pictures on them, and the Major; well there's pictures; just dark looking. But I got em and I'm keeping em. |

Honestly I can't imagine working with a pictureless deck. It's the pictures I derive the meaning from. But I tend to think/work with pictures, not words, in general.

Cool ! I love seeing all the extra cool CHEAP finds at dollar stores! I recently went into our local Dollar Tree and I was able to find the 'magic trick' items but I was unable to find the Tarot deck... I think they are only carried in certain parts of the USA... Oh well.
I Usually get candles, incense, and figurines in our local Dollar Tree....
However I discovered such a TREAT ... there is a local Metaphysical / Pagan store right there in the SAME Plaza as our Dollar Tree!!! Nestled there in the Corner.... I missed it the first few times I went shopping there...
Who Knew??
Id LOVE to see pics of the cards... anyone else have some to POST?
